Design

Our next-gen fitness wearable comes with a dynamic device, featuring a sleek and compact design that practically fits in your pocket with ease. The device boasts an integrated indicator light, thoughtfully designed to provide subtle yet informative notifications regarding battery life and power status, ensuring you stay connected seamlessly.

The comfortable strap, ingeniously engineered with a slide-in tracking device, is expertly crafted to be worn around an athlete's calf. This innovative design guarantees an unobtrusive and secure fit, allowing athletes to focus on their performance without any distractions.

Technology

The Athlete Monitoring System is a fitness-tracking device that monitors the physical activities of athletes.

It will be used for tracking the position of players, their speed, and movement on the field while training, which will help the coach and players analyze their performance and improve it before the match.

 

The system contains two main sensing sections: LPS and IMU.

The Local Positioning System (LPS) tracks the position of the player when they are on the field. The LPS data will be shown on the screen, providing the coach with regular updates on each player's distance traveled and location on the field. LPS provides a relative positioning of the subject under test, for static anchor sensors. This location can be tracked with a repeated frequency, which allows us to get time series data of the location. LPS allows it to operate independently without any global positioning tracking.

The accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer sensor help in the measurement of movements such as speed, sprints, and steps. Each of the sensors provides data at a very high data rate and can be processed further to obtain different insights. Key data obtained from the sensors included pitch, roll, and yaw. They will capture data across three axes and capture athlete data in minute detail, which will help in assessing performance and improving accordingly. This allows to obtain an independent tracking of the different parameters. When the same parameters are fed to a graphical system, then the real-time visualization can further aid in tracking performance in real-time.

Both the sensors are fairly small in form factor and can be integrated with a system incorporating wireless modes of communication and allowing seamless transfer of data. Alternatively, an offline version of the system can also be deployed, which allows to store the data in persistent memory. This data can be accessed post a session and analyzed.

App
